College Football Week 11 MiniRecap

Quick College Football post… (this being the 5th post in the last 2 hours and all… I think I’m keeping you all busy in the reading department on Monday).

Mad Hatter… Goes Mad
I did not watch this game live as I would have blown a gasket. Seriously… I haven’t seen a fuck up this bad in YEARS. Just terrible clock management. It’s a shame that Michigan isn’t going to fire Rich Rod (who I do think will end up being very successful there), because I think everyone would be just fine with Michigan making Les Miles a stupid 4 mil/year offer. This is an odd one for LSU fans. How much do we like Les Miles? He’s clearly not Nick Saban (in multiple ways). But once again, can LSU do better? Other coaches didn’t want to follow Saban in Baton Rouge when Skip hired Les… Les wasn’t plan A, but it wasn’t a terrible plan. For some reason… Les is still around. How dangerous would a guy like Harbaugh, or Brian Kelly, or even a guy like Gary Patterson be at LSU?

Charlie Weis Should Watch What He Says
Because saying things like 6-5 is unacceptable just might get you fired AND you might not get the full 17 million owed to you.

But let me get something straight. Charlie Weis should have been fired LAST year… but for some reason he got an extra year. Now what? He failed again. He should be fired this coming Saturday night… win… (or most likely) loss at Stanford.

THEN. If Notre Dame is smart they don’t say shit to anybody. They get on a plane, and you go to Gainesville. On that plane, you formulate a plan… the “what if” plan. Don’t get caught with your pants down. Be prepared for Urban to say no.

BCS Rankings
I’m hopeful that Brody makes another BCS bowl predictions… I’m going to be pretty surprised though if both Boise State and TCU don’t make a BCS bowl. TCU, assuming they come in 4th… will get in. Boise State… has history with the Fiesta Bowl and has proven them to be a worthwhile participant in one of the BCS bowls.

More importantly to me, somehow Virginia Tech has reentered the BCS picture. If something incredible happens over the next couple weeks…(which would seem fitting in this college season), would it surprise anybody to see Virginia Tech sneak in? Not really.

That’s all for this week, nothing too enlightening… college football is winding down.
